An initiative by PAPAGEORGIOU Hospital to support and promote biomedical research and education based on interdisciplinary approaches, primarily involving medicine, biology, genetics, pharmacology, and biomedical informatics.
Introduction
The Papageorgiou Hospital has carried out basic research and clinical investigations, especially phase III and IV, in all therapeutic categories since its founding.
Biomedical Experimental Research Unit
Since 2014, it has carried out experimental research using laboratory animals and provided medical professionals ongoing tuition.
Research Center Unit
With the establishment of BRESU's Clinical Research Unit (AUTH) in early 2023, it will be able to perform Phase I and Bioequivalence clinical trials.
Productivity
Each year, there are three major experimental studies, as well as over 70 new and modified clinical trials, which are either interventional involving an experimental medicine or non-interventional without medication.
